In New York, for initial licensure, registered nurses (RNs) must complete 2 hours of child abuse and maltreatment training. For license renewal, RNs must fulfill the following requirements:
- 4 hours of New York approved education on infection control, hepatitis B virus (HBV), and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)
- 3 hours of pain management, palliative care, and addiction (applicable for DEA prescribers only)
